What happens when Barnes and Nobles go out of business!
So, I've been hearing a lot of talk of B&N going out of business, and I am going to buy
a Nook HD+ pretty soon. So if they go out if business, then what happens to the Nook? Will it still be able to download things? And be… Well… The same thing? Because I did hear if B&N goes out of business, then like… The google play store keeps it running and whatever. I just want to know will my nook be the same when B&N goes out of business? Thanks in advance. Please Help! :)
I'm not sure where you've heard that Barnes and Noble is going out of business, but to the best of my knowledge this simply isn't true. If you buy a Nook HD+ you should be fine. You can continue to download a wealth of content, apps, etc through the Google Play store. This is the same app store which powers most Android smart phones and tablets, so content you purchase through there will be accessible to you well into the future. The Barnes and Noble online book store should be around for a long time to come. However, be smart and buy apps through Google Play when you get your device.
Now, let's say that Barnes and Noble's physical bookstore presence were to suddenly close tomorrow. First of all, your digital B&N content should be fine, and I imagine that branch of the business will continue to operate. Your biggest loss would be losing the benefits that Nook owners get in brick and mortar locations of B&N.
